The positive side of anxiety

Anxiety

This blog post is actually making me slightly anxious as I feel that by writing it I’m setting myself up for a fall. However I write this in jest, I know anxiety isn’t funny. I can’t think of a single time I’ve woken up panicking in the middle of night shouting “Yay! Another panic attack, for absolutely no reason what-so-ever!” but it’s always good to make light of a situation or at least try to. So here is my list of 6 positives to suffering from anxiety.

  1. I am less likely to get burgled because I triple check windows and doors, even ones     that have never ever been opened. I’m awake half of the night checking windows, doors, ovens, hair straighteners, under the bed, the loft, the wardrobe…you get the point.
  2. No house fires! Because again I constantly check ovens, hair straighteners (have you seen my hair recently?), matchboxes – just in case they have spontaneously combusted.
  3. I’m never late because I will set off 4 hours early from worry that I am going to be late due to being gunned down on the way to wherever by rogue beavers.
  4. You can rest assured that I am prepared for every situation. My bag contains everything need for any emergency; plasters, painkillers, bottle of gin, bomb disposal kit, you get the idea.
  5. I will always try my hardest because I constantly believe that I’m a failure but unfortunately I’ll still let you down.
  6. I can’t lie. I physically cannot do it. I’m like Jim Carrey in ‘Liar Liar’. I’m so terrified by the consequences of lying that my brain is now programmed to never let me lie. Or I’m just so good at it I don’t even know I’m doing it anymore and now I’m just lying to myself. I’m caught up in one ginormous circular lie. ( I will now wake up at 3 am in a panic thinking that my life is not real and is in actual fact a huge lie that I’ve created for me to live in…anxiety sucks monkey butts). ∞

Don’t ever let anyone make you think you’re not good enough.

Follow your dreams right now! Don’t wait until tomorrow,

next week, next year. Stop planning, start doing 🙂

I write, therefore I am. I spend my days writing, wondering what to write, being creative and generally being awesome 😊 Welcome to my world, won't you come on in? xx
