Aaah another Bank Holiday weekend, what a treat.
Well no not really, it’s pretty much just like any other weekend.
Chris works Bank Holidays Mondays usually and up until about a year ago I always did too.
I think this is the quietest weekend I have until the 21st of July. I’m not complaining, I love having things going on, outings, meals, trips away. That’s what life is about isn’t it? Enjoying yourself!
This weekend has been rather uneventful but nice and relaxed.
Christopher was at his Dad’s so that meant it was quiet, there was no washing to do and it was less smelly.
I had all day Saturday to myself. I turned an old plant stand in to a bird table, I went for a run and I watched Dr Who! I wrote things, I tidied up and I pottered about.
Sunday was slightly more energetic. We decided to get out in the garden. I think Chris secretly wanted it to rain…it didn’t! ha!
It’s coming along nicely now. We’ve probably had about five attempts at making the garden pretty. I think maybe a couple more Sundays and it’ll be done.
Our garden is tiered, as you can see from the photos, so it kind of makes it difficult to do anything with it. Mainly because it’s just a pain in the arse.
The plan is to put bark chips on the top three tiers, then pretty it up with big pots and things.
At the top of the garden where it’s flat, we’ll add more bark chips, then we’re going to turf across in front of the shed. We seriously under estimated how many bags of bark chips we would need. We thought one bag would do one tier, we’ve used two bags on just one tier and it’s still not fully covered! So back to Homebase we shall go today π
I love being out in the garden. It makes me feel like my Nana and Grandad are there with me.
I haven’t a bloody clue what I’m doing but it makes me smile so I must be doing something right π
