When did we become so moany? yes I know that the British do tend to moan every now and again…
We love to moan about the weather, whether it’s too hot or too cold, too wet, too dry. We live on a tiny bloody island! We don’t have a stable weather system. It’s just science, yo.
Not only that though, I won’t take away the British right to moan, however I have noticed recently that we moan about great things! It’s as though we feel guilty about good things that are happening so we moan about them to make other people feel better. That’s the only explanation I can think of anyway. Why else would you moan about fun, exciting things?
“Oh I’ve got to go on holiday… I have to sit on a sun lounger for a week in the sun and drink cocktails”
“Oh I’ve got to go out tonight”
“Oh I have a wonderful family and loads of friend who want to spend time with me”
Just please stop.
If something good and fun and exciting is happening in my life I am going to shout it from the rooftops. If you don’t like it (what’s wrong with you) then don’t listen to me.
Be happy and grateful that you are given the opportunity to be doing wonderful things, that you have the time, strength and money to enjoy yourself. If you can afford to go on holiday then you are extremely lucky.
If you don’t enjoy doing something then don’t do it, but don’t whinge and moan about good, happy things just because you’re a miserable sod,
I am not miserable and I’m not unhappy, so please keep your negativity to yourself. I’m not aiming this at people who are suffering with any sort of mental illness, if you have depression, anxiety etc that is completely different. I know the difference between someone who’s mental health is broken and someone who is hell bent on sucking the fun and happiness out of everything.
Stop trying to bring other people down to your miserable level. Take a step back, have a look at your life and think yourself bloody lucky, you miserable b***h.
We could all do with getting a little perspective every now and again, sometimes things are really, really, s**t but life really is far too short to be moaning.
If you do only one thing today, please let it be to watch this video and really, really listen, Pale Blue Dot.
Don’t ever let anyone make you think you’re not good enough.
Follow your dreams right now! Don’t wait until tomorrow,
next week, next year. Stop planning, start doing 🙂
