What better way to start the Easter holidays than with a trip to the National Forest Adventure Farm!
I’ve been coming to events here for two years now and they never cease to amaze me.
I live in West Yorkshire so it’s about a two hour drive down here but it’s always genuinely worth it.
We arrived just after lunchtime and decided to take full advantage of the outdoor picnic area, we tucked into our sandwiches to keep us energised for the ‘egg-citing’ time ahead!
The spring time weather was being particularly cruel, so after a very quick bite to eat we headed to the ready and waiting tractor ride. Our bumpy journey in the trailer came to an end at the magical woodland where we were greeted and given a stamp card to collect some woodland creatures. We were told if we collected them all we might get to see the Easter Bunny!
We met some wondrous characters; a friendly porcupine, a buzzy bee and a ukulele playing squirrel.
The Easter Bunny was well and truly in our sights. With open arms he welcomed Benjamin, gave him a big hug and then sent him on his way with some yummy chocolate.
As we made our way around the rest of the farm we took part in the animal egg hunt. You’re given clues to figure out where each one is, (but don’t worry there’s a map too just in case you get stuck!) And once you make it to the end you can exchange your completed sheet for a prize!
It’s fair to say that I am super jealous of Benjamin’s day today. Although I fully enjoyed myself too. He was super excited to meet the Easter Bunny, he also got to feed a baby lamb (I may have sneaked a quick snuggle too :D).
The National Forest Adventure Farm Easter Eggstravaganza is on until the 28th of April.
Aside from the Animal Egg Hunt and Easter Bunny Woodland Walk you should also check out the ‘Live lambing’ tent where you might witness a lamb being born! You can also watch via ‘EweTube‘.
There’s plenty more to keep the kids entertained too; sandpits equipped with diggers, Go-Karts, giant jumping pillows, a musical maze and so much more!
We also planted a bean seed in a pot which we were supposed to bring home and have a ‘growing contest’ with but we forgot to collect them on the way out! Never mind, we’ll have to go back next year for another go.
