Ducks and Doggles

I will not ever, ever choose between ducks and dogs. It just cannot ever happen. For a start they are both adorably cute and secondly they are hilarious! You’ve seen ducks walk? Well, waddle. It’s quite possibly one of the most entertaining things ever. Also they are just tiny dinosaurs so you’ve got to love them. Duck facts Ducks are found on every continent except Antarctica. The collective term for ducks is a raft. Most male ducks are silent. ‘Donald Ducks’ middle name is ‘Fauntleroy’. Ducks feet have no nerves or blood vessels, meaning their feet don’t feel the cold. … Continue reading Ducks and Doggles

Happy Woofday and donkeys…

I had a dream come true on Tuesday when I got to spend a couple of hours surrounded by doggles. Foxy is my Mum’s dog, they rescued him just over a year ago and my Mum has succeeded in turning him in to a loveable looney. The 1st of August is Foxy’s birthday, he turned three this week and he certainly celebrated in style. He spent his birthday the only way anyone should spend their birthday, surrounded by friends, eating yummy cake. Happy woofday Foxy! As well as celebrating with the doggies we also went to visit the donkeys at Hope … Continue reading Happy Woofday and donkeys…

Lots of fur babies!

I’ve always had animals in my life. I think a home isn’t a home without a little fur baby. There were definitely many cats when I was little, the most we had at the same time, I think was six. I’m pretty sure most of them were adopted. Here’s the ones I can remember the names of; Thomas Thomas Beauty Beauty Bambi Chloe Cleo Tammy James C-fer Trevor Tigger Kye We had doggles too! Sheba Maddy Zeke Dexter We’ve had fish; Sonic Tails Tom Tom Tom Tom Jerry Iron Man Thor (I haven’t accidentally repeated myself, we did have four … Continue reading Lots of fur babies!

The Peak District!

This weekend my Mum and I headed off down to the Peak District with the Veteran Boot Breakers to take on a 15 mile walk across the district of peaks, taking in Kinder Scout, Winnats Pass and Mam Tor. This was my first time visiting the Peak District and the drive down there certainly did not disappoint. It’s like entering a whole other world, with beautiful woodlands and windy country roads. The views are astonishing, rolling hills towering over tranquil forests and sparkly reservoirs. We were booked in at Losehill Hall YHA and it was amazing. For a start the … Continue reading The Peak District!

I may have a similar post to this somewhere but the things that make us happy can change on a daily basis. The big things will remain the same, such as friends, family, partners, children etc, but the little things will fluctuate. You might discover a new series on Netflix that you love or find a new flavour of syrup for your coffee, it could be anything.

So here I have a, possibly, new list of ten things that make me happy, that I can think of right now.

  1. My pets. Their squishy little faces always cheer me up 🙂

    2. A perfectly made cup of tea. My Grandad’s were the best but Chris’ aren’t too bad 😛

    3. Ducks… I don’t need to explain this one. How could this not make you happy!duck

    4. Doggies! Again, what else can I say? I just want to shnuffle his face! Eeeee!!dog

5. Trees. They’re just majestic. (Or ‘leafy’, if you’re a fan of Phoebe Buffay)

6. Reading makes me happy because it relaxes me. It’s an escape from real life.

7. It really makes me happy when my teenage son laughs with me. It’s an enormous achievement just to get him to smile, so laughter is like winning the lottery 🙂

8. Sleeping… sleep

9. Running. As much as the build up to it completely kills me, I do love it when I’m out there.

10. Snow.

Don’t ever let anyone make you think you’re not good enough.

Follow your dreams right now! Don’t wait until tomorrow,

next week, next year. Stop planning, start doing 🙂

A weekend of adventures!

This post was originally written and published in 2016. And Christopher still wants to do stuff with us! It’s truly a mackerel! This last weekend gave me the rare opportunity to spend some time with my son. My boyfriend was working nights and so Christopher and I headed off to find some adventures. The weekend wasn’t without its arguments. That child will  argue that black is white with me given half the chance. We had fun though, we always have fun, it’s so nice to see him growing up, you can hold a semi sensible conversation with him and sometimes … Continue reading A weekend of adventures!
