My A-Z of stuff.

I don’t really know where this post is going…I just thought an A-Z of myself would be fun. A is for anxiety and not letting it consume me. B is for the unread books that gather dust upon my shelves … Continue reading My A-Z of stuff.

The Brontës

Haworth is a beautiful, historic village nestled in to the outskirts of the Pennines. It is famous for its cobbled streets, olde world sweet shop, apothecary and of course it was the home of The Brontës from 1820 until 1861. The Brontë sisters, and their brother, were born in Thornton village, just along the road from where I grew up. This is where my love of the Brontës and Haworth stems from. I feel a connection with them and Brontë Country because to me they are of great importance, their history, and the imprint they have made on the world. … Continue reading The Brontës

“What’s your USP?”…

In my very early days of serious blogging I was chatting to a lady about my blog and she asked to see it. I gave her my site address and she had a quick look. She asked me, “What’s your USP?” USP wasn’t a term I was familiar with so I drew a blank. “Your unique selling point. What is it?” “Oh well, I don’t know. Me, I suppose” Well apparently that wasn’t a good enough answer for this lady who actually had no influence on me or my blog… To be perfectly honest though I think it was … Continue reading “What’s your USP?”…

Northern Blog Awards 2017

Northern Blog Awards On Saturday night I lost my blog awards virginity and it did not disappoint. This was the first annual Northern Blog Awards, created and organised by the incredible HollyGoesLightly. I have never attended an event like it, from the venue down to the name cards, every detail was perfect. When I first began blogging it certainly wasn’t to win awards, to be honest I didn’t even realise that Blog Awards were a thing. I blog for my own pleasure, to hopefully inspire others, offer up my thoughts and to one day make it my career. Blog awards are … Continue reading Northern Blog Awards 2017

Things I love (There’s a lot of stuff)

I was once told that I use the word ‘love’ too often and if it was said too much it lost it’s meaning. Well b***s to that! I love lots of things. Plus, the word ‘love’ just rolls nicely off the tongue, ‘like’ is too much effort 😛   So here is my list of things I love, by no means is this list exhaustive. Dogs Chocolate Trees Sunshine Snow Road Trips Holidays Cookies Ducks Christopher Chris My Mum My Dad My brother My friends Hayley My family My car My life My TARDIS blanket Music Films Parks … Continue reading Things I love (There’s a lot of stuff)

Keeping up with the Jones’

How often are you comparing yourself to others? Do you look at other people and wish you had their hair, their shoes, their money? Do you tell yourself that their children are progressing far quicker than yours? They’ve lost more weight than you? Do you constantly ask why they have everything? How is it fair that they have their dream job, dream house, new car, perfect relationship, well-behaved children… Stop! Stop it right now. I mean it, stop it right this second. Those lives that you see are not perfect. I can assure you that no matter how ‘together’ you … Continue reading Keeping up with the Jones’

Paranormal Interview

An interview with a medium. They chose to remain anonymous due to personal reasons. 1.When did you first realise you had this gift? Do you class it as a gift? Yes, I class it as being a gift. I was 6 or 7 when I first realised I had it. 2. What has been your strangest experience? I once saw a presence riding alongside me and my horse. The horse began to act quite weird and at first I just thought he was misbehaving, I then realised that he could sense we weren’t alone. 3. What has been your scariest experience? … Continue reading Paranormal Interview
