Prince of Wales Park

Alongside some garages near our house there is a public footpath which leads you up on to Gilstead Moor. We first discovered this trail when we moved here nearly two years ago. It’s a short walk to a beautiful view of Bingley and beyond. You can see all across the top of St.Ives and all the way down the valley past Keighley and towards Skipton. If you carry along over the tops it eventually brings you out at Parkside. If you cross over here you can enter the magical wonderland of The Prince of Wales Park. I didn’t even know … Continue reading Prince of Wales Park

My Inspiration

People inspire me every day. Friends of mine who I know are going through hard times, financially, emotionally, physically. Yet they get up and get on with it. Mainly because they don’t have a choice. Well I suppose they could choose to just lie down and give in, that’s such an easy option these days. These people, however, they fight. They know life is tough and they know things could get worse and they could potentially be facing some s**t times for months to come, it doesn’t keep them down though. They have learnt that the good times are waiting, … Continue reading My Inspiration

Day out in Chester!

I’ve never known much about Chester, other than it being where Hollyoaks is filmed. I was headed there for the day with two of my awesome lady friends so we could meet up with our other awesome lady friend, who happens to live out that way! In the past if I’d planned to visit somewhere I would research the life out of it. I want to know where to go, what to do and I want it planned, military style. This hasn’t always served me too well in the past thought as it tends to create stress and migraines when … Continue reading Day out in Chester!

Plain and simple

My favourite flavour of crisps is plain, ready salted. Some people might read that and think of it as being boring. Whereas I look at it as the place where I can control the chaos that is my life and by chaos I mean freaking awesomeness! My life is filled with appointments, days out, meals, weekends away, meeting friends, spending time with family and I love it. I could not have it any other way. I love being busy, I like having somewhere to go and something to do. Especially at a weekend. My week days are filled with work, … Continue reading Plain and simple

Where do I want to go…?

Where do I want to go? In short, the answer to that would be ‘everywhere’! Aside from being very expensive, there’s just not enough time to go everywhere. Here is a short list I have compiled, this list is not exhaustive. When it comes to things I want to do, places I want to go my lists will never be complete. This is where I remember my mantra. “You can do anything, not everything” – David Allen This list will change throughout my life as I visit these places and then add new ones but here it is as … Continue reading Where do I want to go…?

Keeping up with the Jones’

How often are you comparing yourself to others? Do you look at other people and wish you had their hair, their shoes, their money? Do you tell yourself that their children are progressing far quicker than yours? They’ve lost more weight than you? Do you constantly ask why they have everything? How is it fair that they have their dream job, dream house, new car, perfect relationship, well-behaved children… Stop! Stop it right now. I mean it, stop it right this second. Those lives that you see are not perfect. I can assure you that no matter how ‘together’ you … Continue reading Keeping up with the Jones’

What is love, really?

“Love means never having to say you’re sorry”…  – Love Story, 1970 Well we all know that’s bullshit for a start. Can you imagine? “Honey, I slept with your sister, she’s pregnant, we all have herpes. I’m sor…” “Nope, shush, it’s okay because I love you, no need to apologise” Yeah, that’s not happening. So love is most definitely not a get out clause for anyone. Some might say it’s just a chemical reaction, an amalgamation of endorphins and other hormones, that is now preyed upon for commercial reasons and it also gives us something to worry about … Continue reading What is love, really?
