I’ve only gone and done it. I have written and published a book. This is something that I have dreamt and fantasised about for years. Yes, I fantasise about having books published…so what? I know it doesn’t come with £50,000 advance or a fancy book tour or signings in huge shopping centres but it will do eventually. This is a huge achievement for me. I was actually pretty scared about doing this, I don’t mind admitting that. I worried about what people might think and what they might say, but you know what? I don’t actually care now. I … Continue reading Accomplishing my goals, one by one.
“I’ll do it later” I know exactly what I mean when I say ‘I’ll do it later’. It usually means ‘I have no interest in doing that so I’ll put it off until it goes away’ (which it doesn’t). Those things are usually along the lines of washing up, laundry, drying my hair. The mundane every day crap. What then are my reasons for putting off the fun stuff? The exciting things that fill me with energy and zest for life? It’s fear. The fear tells you that you’re not ready yet, you’ve missed your chance, you’re … Continue reading “I’ll do it later”
The pain cuts through you without any warning sign. An invisible force has presented itself in front of you. You can’t see it but you sure as hell can feel it. There’s no way around it, through it or over it. It torments and taunts without even uttering a sound. You can feel its presence boring into your soul. It looms over you making you want to run and hide. If you hide from the world then nobody will know and then it won’t be real. If you keep quiet and don’t think about it then it’s … Continue reading Darkness – The all consuming
Why do we do things that cause us such heartache? Why do we listen to that song when we know it makes us cry? Or watch that movie when we know it turns us in to a gibbering wreck? Why do watch repeats of our favourite finished shows knowing full well we’re going to have a breakdown and go in to grieving for about a week when it’s ended? Basically it’s because we can. We’re human and we are inundated with emotions all day every day. We love to have a good laugh, a cry and some of us … Continue reading You ARE in control.
How often are you comparing yourself to others? Do you look at other people and wish you had their hair, their shoes, their money? Do you tell yourself that their children are progressing far quicker than yours? They’ve lost more weight than you? Do you constantly ask why they have everything? How is it fair that they have their dream job, dream house, new car, perfect relationship, well-behaved children… Stop! Stop it right now. I mean it, stop it right this second. Those lives that you see are not perfect. I can assure you that no matter how ‘together’ you … Continue reading Keeping up with the Jones’

I have no doubt what so ever that mental illness is real. I know it is real, I’ve witnessed it first hand, I’ve dealt with it on a personal level. However I do believe to some extent that we are mollycoddling ourselves and exacerbating the situation. As much as awareness needs to be raised in regards to mental health and in keeping people safe we also need to stop viewing it as a personality trait. It is never something to be ashamed of but it’s not something to be proud of neither. As an anxiety sufferer with PTSD and … Continue reading Stop labelling yourself
I recently joined a mindset coaching academy called the ‘Bossing It Academy’, here they (they being Holly and Caroline, who are incredible and will help you every step of the way) teach you about the Law of Attraction and how to basically boss the s**t out of your life. So my brain has obviously become inspired and it decided I should write this, this is how I am feeling about my take on the Law of Attraction at the moment. I cannot, will not fail, I may stumble along the way. The strength I have found within is my power now. … Continue reading My law of attraction in verse…
