Moved to the music

Music is majorly important to me, I will always have some sort of music on whatever I’m doing. I’ll have the radio playing downstairs, my iPod on upstairs and something playing on my phone as I carry it around with me. It’s comforting and soothing. It picks me up, it helps me relax and sometimes with the right piece of music it can transport you off somewhere else. I have been practicing meditation more frequently and I think it’s starting to open up certain areas of my brain that have been neglected for years. There’s a creativity in there that … Continue reading Moved to the music

The Brontës

Haworth is a beautiful, historic village nestled in to the outskirts of the Pennines. It is famous for its cobbled streets, olde world sweet shop, apothecary and of course it was the home of The Brontës from 1820 until 1861. The Brontë sisters, and their brother, were born in Thornton village, just along the road from where I grew up. This is where my love of the Brontës and Haworth stems from. I feel a connection with them and Brontë Country because to me they are of great importance, their history, and the imprint they have made on the world. … Continue reading The Brontës

“I’ll do it later”

“I’ll do it later” I know exactly what I mean when I say ‘I’ll do it later’. It usually means ‘I have no interest in doing that so I’ll put it off until it goes away’ (which it doesn’t). Those things are usually along the lines of washing up, laundry, drying my hair. The mundane every day crap. What then are my reasons for putting off the fun stuff? The exciting things that fill me with energy and zest for life? It’s fear. The fear tells you that you’re not ready yet, you’ve missed your chance, you’re … Continue reading “I’ll do it later”

What do I want to do?

Well we all already know that I want to do everything! Again this is one of those moments where I remember David Allen; “You can do anything, not everything” However, just for the sake of it I thought I’d write a few of those things down that I think about doing. Some of which I will do, probably pretty soon. Some of them might prove to be difficult, that’s no reason to not do them, they’ll just take longer and others are pretty improbable, but not impossible 🙂 Some of these are goals that I have set … Continue reading What do I want to do?

Just some Haikus

I enjoy writing Haiku’s. They seem so simple because you have an easy set of rules to stick to but it gets harder and harder. Especially if you want them to make some sort of sense. I could write total gibberish to be honest and sometimes I might. Wednesdays from now on will be my Haiku day. I hope I don’t start repeating myself 🙂 Enjoy ♥ Where are you going? The girl on the bus, where? Will you make it there? I am not a thing, I possess much more than that. My vision is set. Time is never … Continue reading Just some Haikus
