“What’s your USP?”…

In my very early days of serious blogging I was chatting to a lady about my blog and she asked to see it. I gave her my site address and she had a quick look. She asked me, “What’s your USP?” USP wasn’t a term I was familiar with so I drew a blank. “Your unique selling point. What is it?” “Oh well, I don’t know. Me, I suppose” Well apparently that wasn’t a good enough answer for this lady who actually had no influence on me or my blog… To be perfectly honest though I think it was … Continue reading “What’s your USP?”…

You can, You will.

Do you think that when Alan Sugar, Richard Branson and J.K Rowling first started out they were successful overnight? Well they weren’t. So that answered that. They did not make millions on their first day of business. When Rowling was sat on that train planning Harry Potter, she didn’t know it would make her the UK’s best-selling living author. There may well have been instances where they felt like a failure or someone told them ย it wasn’t going to work out. I don’t know for sure, maybe everything ran perfectly for them, I’m fairly sure it didn’t. From what … Continue reading You can, You will.

Things I love (There’s a lot of stuff)

I was once told that I use the word ‘love’ too often and if it was said too much it lost it’s meaning. Well b***s to that! I love lots of things. Plus, the word ‘love’ just rolls nicely off the tongue, ‘like’ is too much effort ๐Ÿ˜›   So here is my list of things I love, by no means is this list exhaustive. Dogs Chocolate Trees Sunshine Snow Road Trips Holidays Cookies Ducks Christopher Chris My Mum My Dad My brother My friends Hayley My family My car My life My TARDIS blanket Music Films Parks … Continue reading Things I love (There’s a lot of stuff)

Keeping up with the Jones’

How often are you comparing yourself to others? Do you look at other people and wish you had their hair, their shoes, their money? Do you tell yourself that their children are progressing far quicker than yours? They’ve lost more weight than you? Do you constantly ask why they have everything? How is it fair that they have their dream job, dream house, new car, perfect relationship, well-behaved children… Stop! Stop it right now. I mean it, stop it right this second. Those lives that you see are not perfect. I can assure you that no matter how ‘together’ you … Continue reading Keeping up with the Jones’

Stop labelling yourself

I have no doubt what so ever that mental illness is real. I know it is real, I’ve witnessed it first hand, I’ve dealt with it on a personal level. However I do believe to some extent that we are mollycoddling ourselves and exacerbating the situation. As much as awareness needs to be raised in regards to mental health and in keeping people safe we also need to stop viewing it as a personality trait. It is never something to be ashamed of but it’s not something to be proud of neither. As an anxiety sufferer with PTSD and … Continue reading Stop labelling yourself
