Walking Whernside

Walking is amazing, it’s one of the best and easiest ways to get and keep fit. It gets you out in the fresh air and it’s free. You don’t need any specialist equipment, unless you’re doing something that involves mountainous regions or long distance. If you’re walking around your local park you’ll probably be safe enough with a bottle of water and hopefully you won’t need a compass.* I love planning a walk, a big walk I mean, and by plan I mean something along these lines… “Gayle do you fancy a walk next Sunday”? “Yeah, sure, where”? “Not sure, … Continue reading Walking Whernside

Sadness

I wish the rain would comfort me each time I shed a tear, ย if this were so, we’d all be drowned within the year. There is no way to hold ย them back, the fear and pain push through, the emotions cloud my thoughts, the tears obscure my view. For a moment I catch the sunshine, it plays upon the wall, A smile flickers for an instant, the joy before the fall. I feel your presence around me, I know you’re always there It doesn’t quell the loneliness, it’s more than just unfair. I started writing this poem months ago when … Continue reading Sadness

Happy!

I may have a similar post to this somewhere but the things that make us happy can change on a daily basis. The big things will remain the same, such as friends, family, partners, children etc, but the little things will fluctuate. You might discover a new series on Netflix that you love or find a new flavour of syrup for your coffee, it could be anything.

So here I have a, possibly, new list of ten things that make me happy, that I can think of right now.

  1. My pets. Their squishy little faces always cheer me up ๐Ÿ™‚

    2. A perfectly made cup of tea. My Grandad’s were the best but Chris’ aren’t too bad ๐Ÿ˜›

    3. Ducks… I don’t need to explain this one. How could this not make you happy!duck

    4. Doggies! Again, what else can I say? I just want to shnuffle his face! Eeeee!!dog

5. Trees. They’re just majestic. (Or ‘leafy’, if you’re a fan of Phoebe Buffay)

6. Reading makes me happy because it relaxes me. It’s an escape from real life.

7. It really makes me happy when my teenage son laughs with me. It’s an enormous achievement just to get him to smile, so laughter is like winning the lottery ๐Ÿ™‚

8. Sleeping…ย sleep

9. Running. As much as the build up to it completely kills me, I do love it when I’m out there.

10. Snow.

Don’t ever let anyone make you think you’re not good enough.ย

Follow your dreams right now! Don’t wait until tomorrow,ย

next week, next year. Stop planning, start doing ๐Ÿ™‚
